Bank Dagang Negara

Bank Dagang Negara is located at Jalan Pintu Besar Utara No. 5, West Jakarta. In the past this building was called Esconto Bank NV. It was built in 1887 with European architectural design.This bank was taken over by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and became “Bank Dagang Negara” based on Government Regulation Substitute Law No. 13/1960, on 2 April 1960 which was effective began on 11 April 1961. Based on Law No. 18/1968, it was declared as Government’s “General Bank” with task and business directed to improved people’s economy and nation development, putting priority on banking sector, with 83 branches spread out largely throughout Indonesia.
